Jordanne Cantrill is an alumna of Florida State University, where she graduated from the Digital Media Production bachelor’s program and Public Interest Media and Communication master’s program. Mentored by Dr. Jennifer Proffitt and other esteemed faculty in the College of Communication and Information, her academic focuses at FSU included documentary film theory and production, media effects, and representation and stereotyping in mass media. Her master’s thesis, which she passed with distinction, explored the language used to frame the discussions around multiple genders in sport. While at FSU, she was a part of the Flying High Circus for five years, where she performed bike for five, lyra, spanish web, triple trapeze, and hand balancing. She worked her way through her master’s program on campus as an employee of Seminole Productions, where she later became the Associate Producer of Sport Venue Entertainment. She went on to work at Yale University as the Director of Digital Marketing & Game Presentation in the athletic department. She now works as a freelance videographer and live events specialist as she transitions to a new chapter of life in Charlotte, NC.
